Avocado Recipes for Every Occasion

If you are looking for a food item that you can put into just about everything, avocado is calling your name! It seriously has the most amazing taste and texture! This means it will most definitely elevate any recipe that you put it in. And bonus… my kids will not only eat avocado recipes but they request them! So I am willing to come up with any possible way to cook them that I can! I’ve come up with this amazing avocado roundup so that we can all enjoy these recipes all in one place! I love that it can be put into anything all year long. You see it in summer salads, fall sandwiches, winter meats, and spring egg recipes. You can mash it up into savory guacamole for your tailgate parties. Slicing it up for your salads and sandwiches is equally delicious. And my personal favorite, garnishing every meat that I cook with it. This roundup includes something for everyone so go ahead and give a few of them a try! I am positive that you will find some that you keep coming back to over and over again!

How to cut an avocado: Take a knife and cute your avocado in half, long ways. Open it up and remove the pit. Take a spoon and place it underneath the skin and slowly scoop the acocado out so that it keeps its shape. Then you can slice it up howevery you need to!How to keep an avocado from turning brown: If you store an avocado in your fridge that you have already cut, store it inan airtight container with a sliced red onion. This will keep it from browning! And don’t worry, your avocado wont taste or smell like onions after! It’s magic! How to pick an avocado: When you are at the store, pick up the avocado and put some pressure on it with your fingers. If it is rock solid, it’s not ripe enough. If it squishes, its TOO ripe. You want one that dents just a bit! Keep your recipes in mind: If you are using avocados all week long, you don’t want to get ALL ripe avocados! Make sure to get a few ripe ones and also some that aren’t quite ripe yet. That way, they will ripen throughout the week and be ready for you later instead of going bad!
